A content creator I admire promised me that if I were to make a young Earth creationist themed DOOM map, he would play it on stream. I then spent the next four months, or so, working on that project.

YEC.pk3, or YEC DOOM, is a satire of young Earth creationism. I wanted to capture the silliness of this belief in a small DOOM mod. There are many jokes and references to and about this movement that is jettisoning members every day. I also did not want to hurt any real people in the mod, as, even though some of these characters are among the most detestable people alive, I thought it would be in very poor taste. A big theme of the mod is forgiveness and love for your enemies, which I almost never see young Earth creationists do.

The map, though small, features a variety of set-pieces, such as a cathedral, a mine, industrial Hell, a bowling alley, an indoor pool, two graveyards, and much more. Most of the unique set-pieces are inside the star attraction: Noah's Ark. The exterior of the ark is 1:1 with the description in Genesis, using a cubit around 2-3 feet.

The interior, however, is far from accurate. It has almost twice the square... uh... cubits of floor space.
